Frequently asked questions
We regularly get asked a number of questions about our services and thought it'd be useful to provide a list of some of the most frequently asked of these.
How much will a website cost me?
This is the number one question we get asked for obvious reasons! It is however a very tricky one to answer as every website is unique and the cost depends on the complexity and size of the project. Costs increase if you're after a bigger website with additional functionality. Other services that add to the cost include additional modules, graphic design, copy writing, image sourcing and search engine optimisation. An ecommerce website will be considerably more as this becomes a much more complex build. These all take time and therefore add to the cost. We work on the basis of a fixed cost to you - we'll assess your requirements and price the job based on an estimate of the time involved.
How long will it take to build my website?
A website project can take anything for a week to many months, it all depends on what you're after. A simple website, if we have all the copy and graphics, should take no longer than a week. For more complex websites this time frame can change considerably. You're best bet is to contact us to get a clear idea of the timescales involved.
What is a template based website? Is it going to look like someone else's website?
As our websites are built on the Joomla content management system they work by using templates. A template is the graphical front end of your website which contains the look and feel. All our templates are bespoke and built specifically for the customer. This is not much different to how traditional websites are built but as it uses the content management system you can update the website whenever you want. Can you help me write the content for the website?
A website is only as good as the content - or copy - it contains. We offer full copywriting services (John has spent 15 years writing copy for various companies) which are charged separately. We would strongly suggest that you make sure your copy is search engine optimised as this is what Google will look for when ranking your website. Good copy means good Google rankings.
Do you offer graphic design?
We offer graphic design for all forms of digital art work, such as for your website and email marketing. We don't offer print design. Graphic design is charged separately from the website build itself, although if it's minor design changes we're happy to look at including it in the cost.
Can you guarantee me a top spot in Google?
The short answer is no one can! Many companies who claim to be able to guarantee to get you to the top of Google use what are known as 'black hat' techniques. This is basically trying to cheat the search engines and can be punished by having your website removed from Google completely. If that happens you'll have to start from scratch with a new domain name. Good optimisation is a long term project but one that can bring huge rewards to a company.
