This is a simple, fast and powerful way to get backlinks from websites that Google considers authoritative.

There are a number of websites out there that contain domain statistics about  other websites. They list information such as ip address domain age, date of registration or the page title and metadata.

More importantly these site include a backlink to the site they contain information on.  Below is some information about www.swaysearch.com on the meta site www.howismysite.com (http://howismysite.com/swaysearch-com).

howistmysite

As we can see the page contain information about our website page title meta description and keywords. But you can also see that the page has given us two keyword rich anchored text backlinks to our site for free!.

Submitting your website to these types of sites is a great way of improving the Google ranking of an existing website. These sites (see list below) are loved by Google. You should incorporate this technique to your SEO strategy.

You can often add a RSS feed url to these sites as well so if you have a blog on your website make sure you submit that too.

For example there are two URLs created by www.howismysite.com for www.swaysearch.com:

http://howismysite.com/swaysearch-com

http://howismysite.com/user_rss/38011.xml

To increase the impact of creating these pages with backlinks to your site we should 'ping'  these URLs to various ping services to get them indexed quickly and give them extra authority. See our next blog about pinging URLs for a full guide about how to do this.

Here is a list of meta site to which you should submit your website:
